
Visiting Clinical Fellowship
Prospective Overview
Scholars in these programs participate in all appropriate activities in order to achieve the educational objectives of the training program, which include: working closely with the approved program faculty members on clinical research projects, participating in research subject recruitment and evaluation, managing, analyzing and interpreting data, writing scientific articles, and if relevant, clinical observation. Scholars participate in a wide range of academic activities relevant to their area of clinical research interest including journal clubs, lab meetings, research and grand rounds and other courses relevant to their specific interest. Each scholar is carefully paired with a relevant faculty mentor who will guide their training.
Prospective Candidates
UC San Diego Health Sciences International offers Visiting Clinical Fellowships that are specifically tailored for individuals who are Board-certified or Board-eligible (by the Saudi Commission, for example) in other countries.
Program Goals

To expand knowledge of the health care system in the US and how it operates including role of various medical staff and electronic health records.

To provide direct experience in comprehensive & standardized patient care scenarios including policies & procedures as well as professional communication standards.

To provide the opportunity for clinical skills enhancement.

To facilitate the development of relationships with faculty mentors for successful career development.
Duration of Program
This is a 1 to 2 years program with the option to extend.
